As you build your accounts you might get knocked down from time to time and become exhausted. When that happens, immediately focus your line of sight on the dream and end goal. This will re-inspire you to keep going and maintain momentum.
What is your vision that will move you to action when you are down?
What does success mean for you?
Financial freedom to do what you want with whom you want when you want?
Living a life you don’t need a holiday from?
Having a modern, minimalist home on a hill overlooking the crystal-clear blue waters in Kauai?
Being able to pay off your parent’s mortgage?
A clear vision for your life will help give you a target to aim for. Without this it is very difficult to stay motivated during the down days.
If we were sitting together in the next 12 months, what would you like to have happened in each of these areas?

You can also find inspiration and motivation in different ways such as:
A vision board is a highly effective way to visualise what you want. It can be a cork board or an online vision board of the things that you want for you and your family. The inspirational pictures that you place there set your reticular activating system (RAS) in motion. The reason this is so
powerful is because what you focus on expands. I’ve been doing this for over 20 years and it’s amazing how well it works.
Books and Audiobooks
15 minutes each night of a positive book e.g The Magic of Thinking Big, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People, TRIBE of Mentors.
Audiobook’s are also great if you drive, fly or spend a lot of time on public transport. You could listen to an average of 1 book each month and have ‘read’ at least 12 books in one year! Considering the average person never reads another book cover to cover after high school means you would be
streets ahead. Leaders are readers.
Leadership seminars – e.g. Google’s Search Inside Yourself Leadership Institute, Anthony Robbins’ Unleash the Power Within. These seminars will provide inspiration and motivation that will give you the edge over the average account manager. I find them a much needed boost particularly in sales where we need to learn to deal with rejection and keep up a positive attitude in the face of constant adversity and fierce competition. Even if you aren’t going for a sales-related job these seminars can provide an antidote for a really dull, soul destroying job that we have all been in at one time or another.
TED talks, Podcasts & motivational music can all work wonders too.
